Taken off the schedule because I'm not "excited to work"

Been working at a local coffee shop the past almost 7 months and a new assistant manager started maybe a month or month and a half ago. I could
  • 03
immediately tell he was a brown noser and it really put me off, like there was one time the shop needed extra hands for a big event and he had said
  • 04
something like "if you help out you'll be skinny and pretty all year." And recently he's stopped scheduling me so this past week I had to pick up a few shifts
  • 05
from people who didn't want them because otherwise I had none and I wasn't on the schedule for the next two weeks.
  • 06
Not to mention if I want to pick up shifts I have to wait for manager approval, and now that the new guy is officially the shop's GM I didn't see him
  • 07
approving me...especially now that I know he didn't have me on the schedule because he bases hours on people who are "excited to work" and I just have
  • 08
to try and laugh it off because otherwise I'll get ped off all over again. How the h I are you going to fk with someone's actual literal living because they

aren't drinking the company Kool-aid?? I wasn't a perfect. employee or whatever but I worked hard enough to sprain my thumb and still felt bad.
  • 10
about asking for a single day off to rest it. Quitting and not regretting it, good riddance.

gingerbreadboi OP Oh I intend to try for it. Unfortunate I didn't get the reasoning in writing because he literally avoided my messages any time I asked about it lol
  • 14
..xxWARXMACHINE T. is the "skinny and pretty" comment all about? | feel like him not scheduling you isn't about being excited to work. Sounds like a creep with an ulterior motive.
  • 15
gingerbreadboi OP Now that you mention it, the promotions do seem to be going to the younger (<25) ladies rather than the baristas who have been working there for as long as I have. Wonder if that has anything to do with it

thenord321 Make sure to make some complaints to upper management about his "leadership style" and "targetted
  • 17
harassment" then leading to hour cuts as punishment without documented cause. That could land them in potential legal
  • 18
trouble, then quit and tell them you're contacting a lawyer, they better get the GM in line.
  • 19
Even if you don't follow through, it will cause him and his brown nose image to be tarnished and possibly demote or retrained.

gingerbreadboi OP Will do, thanks! Anything to keep the class traitors out of management
